Quand ma Cliente de 70 Ans m'a Demandé un Tatouage... en Or

When My 70-Year-Old Client Asked Me for a Tattoo... in Gold

I've known Lalla Aicha since I opened the shop. She always passes by our window when she goes shopping at the central market. A little wave, a smile, but she's never been inside.

Last Monday, surprise: there she was, pushing open our door, a little hesitant.

"My daughter," she begins in Tamazight, "I have a strange request. My granddaughters are always talking about tattoos. At my age, I can't get a tattoo on my skin. But could you give me a tattoo... in gold?"

A request that touches my heart

I immediately thought of our Tattoo Bracelet—this ultra-thin chain that hugs the wrist as if drawn directly onto the skin. But first, I wanted to understand its story.

"Lalla Aicha, why now?"

She sat down and told me about her three granddaughters, aged between 20 and 25, all tattooed. Delicate patterns, writing, symbols that tell their personalities. "I too want to wear something that looks like me, that sets me apart. But at 70, you can't do whatever you want with your body."

The tattoo that doesn't hurt

I showed him our 18k gold Tattoo Bracelet. His eyes lit up.

"That's exactly it! The finesse, the way it follows the shape of my wrist... It's like it's drawn directly onto my skin!"

She tried it on immediately. The bracelet fit her slim wrists perfectly, creating that "second-skin" effect we were looking for in this collection.

"You know what, daughter? My granddaughters are going to be jealous. Their grandmother will have the most beautiful tattoo in the family!"

A lesson on age and elegance

What struck me was how she embraced this desire. There was no "I'm too old for this" or "what will people say." Just this simple desire to have fun, to stay connected with her granddaughters.

The Tattoo Bracelet was originally designed for a young clientele. But on Lalla Aicha's wrist, it took on a different dimension. More demure, more confident.

"Gold ages well, just like me," she told me, laughing. "And if my granddaughters can wear their tattoos to the office, I can wear my bracelet to the mosque!"

Returning to the family

On Thursday, she returned with her three granddaughters. They wanted to see "Lalla's gold tattoo."

The eldest, Yasmine, an architecture student, was fascinated: "Grandma, it's even more stylish than our tattoos! And what's more, you can take it off whenever you want!"

The youngest, Salma, asked if they could make her the same one. "So that my grandmother and I would match."

Today, three generations of the same family wear our Tattoo bracelet. Each with their own style, age, and personality. But all connected by this little piece of gold that hugs their wrists like a shared secret.

Lalla Aicha was right: age is just a number. Elegance, on the other hand, has no age.
