The jewel chosen for a unique day
Share
I remember a bride who came one morning, a few days before her wedding. She had everything ready: the dress, the shoes, the bouquet. But one piece of jewelry was missing.
“I don’t want something that only shines in photos,” she told me. “I want a piece of jewelry that I’ll keep, that I’ll still wear in ten years.”
We looked at several models together. She hesitated. Then she chose an 18K gold necklace. Very simple. Inside, she wanted an engraving, a word that only she and her future husband would understand. When she put it around her neck, she closed her eyes.
"It's him," she breathed.
Another memory comes to mind. A young man had just finished his studies. Years of work, doubts, sleepless nights. He chose a discreet ring. When he put it on his finger, he smiled.
“Now, every time I see her, I'll know I've succeeded.”
These jewels don't stay locked away in boxes. They live with those who wear them. They carry the days of work, the bursts of laughter, sometimes the tears. But they continue to accompany.
That's what I love about this job. Customers don't just come looking for gold. They come looking for a memory to create, a trace of a moment that matters. I listen to them. They tell their stories. And little by little, a piece of jewelry is born.
A piece of jewelry chosen for a special day quickly becomes more than just an accessory. It's a memory we carry with us. And sometimes, years later, we pass it on to someone else. And so the story continues.
